A Little About Me

Well, hello there! I’m Jennie, a cat-mom, a lover of words, and a passionate home cook-turned-whatever-you’d-like-to-call-this.

I learned to cook as an eager-to-learn sixteen-year old who had a creative spark and too much time on her hands on summer break. It was the era of the food blog (think: early days of Smitten Kitchen and For Love and Lemons) where you no longer had to wait to be deemed worthy by The Food Network to begin making. (Perhaps I should note that this was also the era of Next Food Network Star—is that still a thing?)

Food has always helped me bring people together: mint chocolate chip cupcakes for my mom’s surprise birthday party (age 18), impressing my first love’s best friends with a casual dinner party (age 21), and searching for the perfect limone method to bring my friends together over a damn good bowl of pasta (now and forever).

In my past lives I’ve also been an actor, a musical theatre fanatic, an amateur muay thai fighter, and a group fitness instructor.
